AI job rankings 2026

Which jobs is AI changing most, and which least? These lists rank jobs by one simple, public measure: the share of a job’s main tasks that show up in real AI use (Anthropic Economic Index, matched to U.S. Department of Labor O*NET tasks). It shows overlap with AI, not who will lose their job.

How the rankings work

We rank 572 of our 601 jobs: those with at least 8 main tasks we can measure, so a single task can’t swing the result. When two jobs have the same share, the one with the higher (or lower) score in Microsoft Research’s “Working with AI” study comes first. Full details are on How it works.
